As a result of attending this training participants will learn practical techniques for effectively managing each project stage, whether individually or as part of a project team.

Overview

This program will provide participants with skills in planning, executing and evaluating projects, assisting Council staff to deliver projects on time and to budget, meet project objectives and report on project outcomes.

This session is suitable for both staff with individual responsibility for projects and those leading or working as part of a project team.

Topics include:

  • Establishing project parameters, objectives and identifying stakeholder needs
  • Project planning including documenting project plans
  • Managing project considerations, eg risk, quality, finance
  • Potential problem identification, analysis and contingency planning
  • Leading/facilitating or working with a defined project team or other contributors
  • Managing project implementation and execution challenges
  • Evaluating and reporting on project outcomes

As part of this program participants will have the opportunity to apply these principles to projects they are currently involved in or typically work with.
