Overview
This program will help staff to communicate with others in a more
assertive manner - that is, to communicate what they want to, in
an appropriate manner and when it is appropriate to do so.
The emphasis of this program is on outcomes - we communicate to
achieve outcomes. By communicating more effectively we can achieve
better outcomes.

- Understanding the nature and components of assertive communication
and how it differs from other communication styles (passive and
aggressive)
- Communication do's and don't's and keys principles for success
- How to communicate what you want in a manner which is firm but
fair
- Differing your communication style depending upon the situation
- Identifying and overcoming barriers to why we might be reluctant
to communicate assertively
- Developing confidence
- Implementing your newly developed skills.
